Baseline and endline studies, impact evaluation, market research, feasibility studies, institutional assessment, business valuation and financial modelling.
Capabilities
Research is only useful if a donor, board or investor will act on it. Every assignment starts with the decision the evidence has to support, and works backwards to the design.
We agree the research question and the decision it must inform.
Sampling, instruments, ethics and analysis plan agreed before fieldwork.
Fieldwork with enumerator training, supervision and data quality checks.
Analysis, findings and a report written for the audience that commissioned it.
Typical assignments
Matched baseline and endline studies for a funded programme, with an analysis plan fixed at the start so the comparison holds.
Assessment of what changed, for whom, and how confidently that change can be attributed to the intervention.
Demand, competition, pricing and operating assumptions tested before capital is committed.
Governance, financial management and operational capacity reviewed against a defined framework.
Valuation for transaction, restructuring or reporting purposes, with the method and assumptions set out in full.
Projection models built to be audited and re-run — assumptions separated from calculations throughout.
Standards
Research that will be challenged has to be able to withstand the challenge. We document the sampling frame, retain the instruments and the raw data, and record the analysis steps so a third party can retrace them.
Our quality and ethics principlesRespondents are told the purpose, the use and their right to decline.
Personal data is minimised, secured and retained only as long as required.
Steps and assumptions documented so findings can be retraced.
Findings are reviewed internally before they leave IABP.
Send us the research question, the population and the reporting deadline. We will propose a design, a sampling approach and a delivery timetable.
