1. Who we are

IABP (Innovate Accounting & Business Progress) provides accounting, financial reporting, advisory, assurance support, research, training and digital business services. In this policy, “IABP”, “we”, “us” and “our” mean IABP.

IABP is the controller of personal information collected through this website and in the course of client and partner relationships. Where we process client data on a client's instructions as part of an engagement, we generally act as a processor and the engagement terms govern that processing.

2. Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Enquiry and consultation requests: name, organization, country, email address, telephone number, service required, estimated budget, preferred contact method, your message, and any document you attach.
  • Partner applications: name, organization, country, city, professional qualification, registration or licence number, service areas, years of experience, website, email, telephone, references, your profile document, your registration or licence document, and your conflict declaration.
  • Career applications: name, email, telephone, position applied for, cover letter and CV.
  • Newsletter subscriptions: email address.
  • Engagement correspondence: information you provide while we scope, perform or report on an assignment.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information such as IP address, browser type, device type, operating system, referring page and pages visited.
  • Cookie and similar technology data, as described in our Cookie Policy.

Information from other sources

  • Publicly available professional registers, where we verify a partner's qualification or licence.
  • Referees you nominate in a partner or career application.

We ask that you do not submit special category data (such as health, religious or political information) or confidential client data through the website forms. Send that material only through an agreed secure channel once an engagement is in place.

3. How we use information

  • To respond to enquiries and prepare proposals or scopes of work.
  • To perform, review and deliver engagements, and to communicate about them.
  • To assess partner applications, verify qualifications and manage conflicts of interest.
  • To assess career applications and, with your consent, retain them for future roles.
  • To send the IABP Professional Insights newsletter where you have subscribed.
  • To administer, secure, maintain and improve the website.
  • To meet legal, regulatory, professional and record-keeping obligations.
  • To establish, exercise or defend legal claims.

We do not sell personal information, and we do not use it for automated decision-making that produces legal or similarly significant effects.

Where data protection law requires a legal basis, we rely on the following:

  • Contract — to take steps at your request before entering an engagement, and to perform it.
  • Legitimate interests — to operate and secure our business, respond to enquiries, assess partner applications and maintain professional records, balanced against your rights.
  • Consent — for the newsletter, for non-essential cookies, and for retaining a career application beyond the current recruitment round. You may withdraw consent at any time.
  • Legal obligation — where retention or disclosure is required by law, regulation or professional standards.

5. Sharing and disclosure

We share personal information only where necessary, and under written terms:

  • Professional network and implementing partners engaged on your assignment, under confidentiality and data handling terms.
  • Locally authorized professionals or firms where a jurisdiction requires them to perform or support a regulated element of an engagement.
  • Service providers that host, secure or support our systems, acting on our instructions.
  • Professional advisers such as our own auditors, insurers and lawyers.
  • Authorities where disclosure is required by law, regulation or a valid legal process.

We do not disclose client engagement information publicly, and we do not name clients in marketing material without written permission.

6. International transfers

IABP is based in Bangladesh and works with partners and clients in several countries. Personal information may therefore be transferred to, stored in, or accessed from a country other than the one in which it was collected, including countries that may not provide the same level of data protection as your own.

Where such a transfer takes place, we put appropriate safeguards in place — contractual data protection terms with the recipient, restrictions on the purposes for which the data may be used, and security requirements proportionate to the sensitivity of the information. Further detail is in our Data Protection statement.

7. Retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it:

  • Enquiries that do not lead to an engagement — normally up to 24 months.
  • Engagement records — for the period required by applicable law, regulation and professional standards, and thereafter for the period during which a claim could be brought.
  • Partner records — for the duration of the relationship and a reasonable period afterwards.
  • Career applications — for the recruitment round, and longer only with your consent.
  • Newsletter subscriptions — until you unsubscribe.

When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymised.

8. Security

We apply technical and organizational measures appropriate to the risk, including access control, encryption in transit, secure document exchange, staff and partner confidentiality obligations, and incident response procedures. No transmission or storage method is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. See our Data Protection statement for detail.

9. Your rights

Depending on where you are located, you may have the right to:

  • access the personal information we hold about you;
  • have inaccurate information corrected;
  • have information erased in certain circumstances;
  • restrict or object to certain processing, including direct marketing;
  • receive certain information in a portable format;
  • withdraw consent where processing is based on consent; and
  • complain to your local data protection authority.

To exercise a right, email info.iabp@gmail.com. We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within the period required by applicable law. Some rights are limited where information must be retained for professional or legal reasons.

10. Cookies

This website uses cookies and similar technologies. What they are used for, and how to control them, is set out in our Cookie Policy.

11. Children

This website and our services are directed at organizations and professionals, not at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, contact info.iabp@gmail.com and we will delete it.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy to reflect changes in our practices, technology or legal requirements. The effective date at the top of the page shows when it was last changed. Where a change is material, we will take reasonable steps to notify affected individuals.
