Cookie Policy
What cookies and similar technologies this website uses, why, and how to control them.
Effective date: [EFFECTIVE_DATE] · Last reviewed: [EFFECTIVE_DATE]
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files placed on your device when you visit a website. Similar technologies — local storage, pixels and tags — work in comparable ways. This policy covers all of them, and uses “cookies” for convenience.
2. Categories we use
Strictly necessary
Required for the website to function — page delivery, security, load balancing and remembering your cookie preferences. These cannot be switched off through our banner, because the site cannot operate without them.
Preference
Remember choices you make, such as a dismissed notice. These are set only where you have consented, or where they are strictly necessary to give effect to a choice you made.
Analytics
Help us understand which pages are read and where visitors encounter difficulty, so we can improve the site. Analytics cookies are set only with your consent, and we configure them to minimise the personal data collected.
Marketing
IABP does not currently use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. If that changes, this policy will be updated and consent will be requested before any such cookie is set.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services appear on our pages — for example a web font provider, an embedded video, or an analytics provider. Those parties set their own cookies under their own policies, and we have limited control over them. We keep third-party components to a minimum for this reason.
The client portal is a separate environment operated under its own terms and cookie arrangements. This policy does not cover it.
4. Cookie table
Note for the site owner: complete this table with the actual cookies the deployed site sets, including name, provider, purpose and expiry, before publication. A generic description is not sufficient under EU and UK requirements.
| Cookie | Provider | Category | Purpose | Expiry |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [COOKIE_NAME] | IABP | Strictly necessary | Stores your cookie consent choice | 12 months |
| [COOKIE_NAME] | [PROVIDER] | Analytics | Measures page usage in aggregate | [EXPIRY] |
5. Managing cookies
Where a consent banner is presented, you can accept or decline non-essential categories, and change your choice later through the same control. Declining does not prevent you from using the website.
You can also control cookies in your browser:
- block all or third-party cookies;
- delete cookies already stored;
- set the browser to warn you before a cookie is stored; or
- use private or incognito browsing.
Browser settings are found under Settings, then Privacy and security, in most current browsers. Blocking strictly necessary cookies may prevent parts of the site from working.
6. Do Not Track
Browsers may send a “Do Not Track” signal. There is no agreed standard for responding to it, so this website does not currently alter its behaviour in response. Cookie consent choices are honoured regardless.
7. Changes
We will update this policy when the cookies used by the site change. The effective date above shows when it was last revised.
8. Contact
Questions about cookies should go to info.iabp@gmail.com. See also our Privacy Policy and Data Protection statement.
